Each school year NTC’s Beta Rho Zeta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa participates in an Honors in Action study topic. This year the group took an interest in the pandemic’s impact on youth and how they could provide assistance in developing healthy coping mechanisms and stress relief opportunities. From their research they found expressing feelings through the use of art and journaling to be an effective stress relief measure, and thus Pages of Hope was conceived. This coloring/journal book is designed with K-6 students in mind; however, it can be used by anyone. It’s a great space for personal reflection or even to be used in tandem with parent/teacher/friend conversations.
Through a generous grant provided by the Mellon Foundation and Phi Theta Kappa, our chapter is excited to offer a limited number of print copies to local schools and agencies who will be contacted in the coming weeks as printing is completed.
