Get Your Family, Group, or Workplace Involved! Be part of United Way of Marathon County’s BOLD GOAL to lift 10,000 families to financial stability by helping out at the Community Closet. Shifts are every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. Tasks include sorting donations and putting them out on the racks, ensuring that a variety of all clothing is out, and general organizing. Healthcare Providers Needed! The Red Cross’s Disaster Health Services Team volunteers use their professional skills to deliver hands-on care and education to shelter residents. Free online training will be provided and can count toward nursing continuing education units. Contact Lee at for more information.

Love To Teach? GiGi’s Playhouse needs volunteers for dance, kitchen, music, literacy tutoring, and movement-based programming. Training is provided. Programs serve all ages of participants and program schedules vary! Email or complete a volunteer application at to get started!

Are You A People Person? Good News Project is looking for volunteers to work one on one with community members that need health equipment. Tasks include answering phones, filling in paperwork, greeting guests, and computer work, if you’re comfortable. At least ½ day weekly availability preferred. The Marathon County Historical Society would appreciate donations of office supplies, specifically: copy paper; mailing labels; small, removable stickers; poster board; manila folders; standard, white, mailing envelopes; and pens. Snacks & Large Backpacks Needed! The Good Shepherd Shelter is looking for backpack and soft food (e.g., cereal, granola bars, fruit & grain bars, pudding snacks, fruit cups, etc.) donations for their clients. Please contact 715.849.3311 to arrange drop off.
